ETSG 2026 Exeter

Conference Information

This is the twenty-seventh conference in what is now the largest (and friendliest) annual conference on international trade in the world. The conference is open to any contribution (theoretical and/or empirical) on any issue related to international trade theory and policy.

ETSG 2026 is hosted by the University of Exeter (United Kingdom). Everyone attending the conference (presenter or not) must register for the conference and pay the conference fee. Please see the local organizing committee’s website (link) with information about the registration procedure (TBA) along with useful local information (e.g., venue, transportation, hotels, visa requirements, etc.)

Conference schedule

The conference will begin just after lunchtime on Thursday 10 September and will end late in the afternoon on Saturday 12 September, 2026. Please plan on attending the entire conference.

Presentation facilities

All of the rooms are equipped with beamers and laptops. Powerpoint and Acrobat software will be installed on all machines. If you wish to use a beamer, please bring your presentation on a flash drive. Files can be loaded onto the computers during breaks. Due to time constraints within sessions, it will not be possible to connect your own laptop to the beamers.

Prize awarded by the Review of World Economics

We are very pleased to announce that the Review of World Economics (RoWE) will award the tenth annual prize for young economists at ETSG 2026 Exeter. The selected paper will receive €1,000 and the possibility to the published in RoWE. Only papers presented at the ETSG 2026 Exeter conference (co-)authored by young economists (i.e., within 2 year of PhD completion) will be eligible. Authors of accepted papers will be informed of the procedure to submit their paper for consideration. Previous winners are listed on the Award Winners page.

Registration

Each participant can present a maximum of 1 paper. All participants, regardless of whether they present papers, will be required to pay a fee for attending the conference. This has been set at £130. Notice that this is only a fraction of the per capita cost, but will help in keeping ETSG conferences viable. Failure to register before the deadline and to pay the conference fee in time implies that your paper will be dropped from the programme. Unfortunately, refunds and discounts are not available.
